To truly understand the foundations and origins of the Teonusude Republic Independent Agency Division [T.R.I.A.D], we need to go way way way back to the very beginning.
T.R.I.A.D, in its earlier guise, played a key role in the forming of the Minmatar Republic as it is known today.
Are you sitting comfortably, then we shall begin.....
SMaK Enterprises were a Minmatar paramilitary corporation founded in Year 105 (2003) by DeT Resprox. DeT Resprox had witnessed a small group of freedom fighters battling other Amarrian pod pilots within Pator in the Heimatar region. An Amarrian group of slaver pilots called the 1st Praetorian Guard had raided the cluster for fresh slaves but were intercepted by the pod pilots of Oracle corp. From that moment Resprox followed every small news item and reports of battle, the addresses on galnet by each side as they battled for public opinion against the Republic itself which seemed as great an enemy to Matar as the Amarrians.
A corporation known as Blacksheep Squadron allied themselves with 1st Praetorian Guard and launched an assault into Molden Heath. It was at this point that the SAS was formed - the SMaK Attack and Support, commanded by Skutter of SMaK Enterprises which remained largely unbeaten. Focused at pushing back the Blacksheep, war raged for several months. After an exhaustive campaign, an Imperial edict was proclaimed to merge the 1st Praetorian Guard with an allied paramilitary with both strong military and industrial bases, the Praetoria Imperialis Excubitoris - popularly known as PIE, Inc.
Here the Praetorians were able to tend to their battered ships and weary crew, and continue to wage the Long War with the industrial base of their fellows in PIE supporting them.
And so....the eternal war had begun.
Year 106 (2004) - The Khumaak Debate
In February of YC106 (2004), the Sebiestor tribe — the ruling tribe in the Republic — issued a demand for the ban of Khumaaks from official apparel within state, military and fleet circles, citing that the presence of the ‘Hand of Maak’ was “an uncomfortable and unnecessary reminder of past boodshed.”
Much rabbling ensued. Both from other NPC entities, such as the other tribes, and from player organisations, such as Oracle, SMaK and The People’s Front of Minmatar; all of whom couldn’t understand the need to abandon symbols of the Matari people’s struggle and heritage.
Predictably, sales for the item went up massively following exposure in the press, and many were sold to capsuleers to carry in their ships as a symbol of Matari pride. Tense times were ahead as different tribes all voiced their concerns about the leadership decisions of PM Midular. This in turn caused a reaction from the oft-silent Malaetu Shakor on the issue:
"The past week has served to do nothing but highlight the monumental inneficiency of this formalized bickering. Parliament needs to have supreme executive authority when irreconcilable internal differences arise within the tribes. As things stand now, there’s no telling what will come of the situation."
Meanwhile, prominent Oracle pilot, Wren, had been organising a peaceful protest in Eram for the 29th February outside the Sebiestor tribe headquarters, where there would be outspoken demand for Midular to speak out about her reasoning for attempting to ban a symbol of the Matari people.
Pilots were to gather a ways from the station and call for a response from the prime minister. Cans were jettisoned in such a manner as to spell the word ‘FREEDOM’ next to the station.
Each of the cans were password-protected, and upon the climax of the protest, each pilot was to warp to a can, and retrieve the single Khumaak from inside, followed by casting a vote of ‘no confidence’ in the current Republic administration.
This was, for all intents and purposes the true beginning of the rift between the loyalist and separatist factions of the Matari capsuleer community — in spite of several long-held grievances between the Oracle and Gradient corporations — and the start of a movement (that would later be known as the People’s Republic of Minmatar, Friends of Matar, and later still, the Ushra’Khan).
The silence from Midular’s office in Eram was short lived. The following day a response was issued to the protesters:
"The Sebiestor tribe regrets our fellow Minmatars’ lack of restraint in this matter, and wishes to let it be known that it has not, and will not, pander to the wishes of extremists who do not have the Republic’s best political interests at hand. Today is a time of diplomacy, and relics of a bloody past do nothing to help our relations with the other empires, relations which we have built through the hard work of communication and mutual understanding."
This statement — although sounding fairly standard for any government organisation — was the catalyst for the ‘us against them’ mentality that lead to the separatist movement from the Republic that later formed the People’s Republic of Minmatar.
The so-called ‘extremists’ were outraged at the mere suggestion that they did not have their people’s best interests at heart when they were so recently protesting — peacefully — to keep the very traditions that make them who they are: Matari. To the protesters there was no logical reason to abandon the symbol of their struggles to become free, and the move was seen as pandering to bureaucracy.
Ten days later, after an extended closed session, the Brutor tribe issued its own response, requesting “the Khumaak to be kept on the official list of sanctioned Minmatar state, military and fleet apparel”, along with a list of circumstances where it would not be allowed; such as meetings with Amarr delegates and other sensitive situations that could spark hostility. Sebiestor tribe was quiet on the issue while they reviewed the new proposal fully.
Four days after the Brutor proposal, on 15th March 106 (2004), the motion was passed, with the changes suggested by the Brutor accepted unanimously amongst the tribal leaders.
Following the motion, one Sebiestor tribe official, Bolwin Amrisar, resigned his position, levying allegations at PM Midular’s respect, or lack thereof for due political process, along with allegations that “she had, prior to the motion, dealt with high-level officials within the Amarr government to secure the release and return of a large number of Minmatar slaves from still active colonies in return for the Khumaak’s banning at occasions where Amarr emissaries would be present.” The accusations however, were quickly dismissed by the council, stating that such a deal could not have occurred without people knowing of it. This in turn spurred the now-famous quote from the PM herself:
"I do what is best for my people, in any way I can. That is all anyone should need concern themselves with."
Only the hardline ‘extremists’ were outspoken in support of Bolwin Amrisar’s accusations, and as the motion carried forward essentially meant that Khumaaks could be worn to any occasion as long as they were covered in the presence of Amarr officials, it was seen as a peaceable compromise. Peaceable of course until fifteen thousand Matari slaves were released from the Amarr Empire, in an effort to “[promote] peace between our two nations and mending the rift caused by years of violence, our beloved Emperor wishes to extend this gesture of goodwill to the Minmatar Republic.” Rakman Kasha, spokesman for the Imperial Chancellor’s Office
Whether this was the under-the-table arrangement denied by Midular just days beforehand or clever political wrangling by the Amarr Empire to further incite rebellion against the current Republic government has never been discovered, but for many, Midular’s “in any way I can” attitude combined with the accusations that talks of such a deal had taken place was enough to cement their feelings that the current Republic regime was corrupt.
A month after the revelation of Midular’s possible pandering to the Amarr, the People’s Republic of Minmatar officially formed in the Tartatven constellation of Molden Heath.
DeT Resprox was one of five High Coucil members of the PRM.
Year 106 (2004) - The Rise
Under the general leadership of a few, The People's Republic of Minmatar[PRM] would base their attacks from Molden Heath with the largest members being Freelance Unincorporated, SMaK Enterprises, Northern Intelligence and The Paratwa Ra. They faced a war on two fronts fighting the pirates of Molden Heath lead by Sneaky Magic and the rapidly strengthening alliance lead by Pie Inc and the infamous Golan Trevise and their allies Blacksheep Squadron.
Many smaller corps took up the cause quickly forming under the banner of the alliance.
PRM soon found itself waging a war on four fronts, against the Amarrian slavers, Nefantar insurgents, Angels and the pirates who infected Molden Heath primarily Sneaky Magic. It was the raging battles of Molden Heath where SMAK Enterprises joined greatly adding to the already heavily outnumbered members of Friend of Matar who were daily being pressed and tested on many fronts, from daily battles in the spacelanes against the likes of Pie Inc, Imperial Dreams and Blacksheep squadron the latter of whom quickly developed a reputation for bold attacks around Heimatar and Molden Heath.
Year 106 (2004) - Ushra'Khan is born
Oracle and The Peoples Front of Matar corporation would merge into a new corp, Matsuat'aa Matari and return to their routes, these would be joined by yet more corps in the form of Amarr Will Eat Itself who then go on to execute and form the first official alliance called the 'Ushra'Khan' adopting the bloody fist as the symbol of their fight. SMaK Enterprises would be one of the first to join them, the rest of the People's Republic of Minmatar would follow suit along with the Friends of Matar[FOM]. The full story of Ushra'Khan can be found HERE.
Year 106 (2004) - The War on Sarum
SMaK Enterprises had their best interests in watching the military mind of the Amarr, in particulary the house of Sarum - an entity hell bent on seeing the Amarr return to the ways of expansion and enslaving the Minmatar. One such corporation of the newly formed CVA alliance stood out. As such war was declared upon Ubiqua Seraph. SMaK remained inside Amarr Empire space for several months, obliterating Sarum forces and setting up an Agency offering missions to outside pilots and mercenaries.
It was at the end of this war in the year 107 (2005) that one of the most famous heists ever took place, effectively breaking Ubiqua Seraph and making worldwide news and games magazines. The war between SMaK and Ubiqua Seraph would rage for almost a year until this point. SMaK involvement to this day remains unquestioned and unanswered.
Some people would say that the heist itself was foretold before it took place, Hamish himself being a member of the People's Republic of Minmatar.
Year 107 (2005) - The Exodus
The Matari Exodus (mentioned in the EvE novel: This Burning Life) began. This saw many Minmatar pilots lose their allies as massive convoys set paths for pastures new. This could not have come at a worse time for Ushra'Khan - finding their feet as a new entity in Molden Heath, mutiple corporations and members went in search of their own riches. This led to SMaK collapsing and many members, including DeT Resprox moving to Reikoku - flying under the banner of Band of Brothers. Much of the formiddable SAS unit of SMaK rallied to Reikoku, including Alasse Cuthalion. Alasse Cuthalion single-handedly won the first Alliance Championships for BoB against overwhelming odds.
However, it was during the short stay with BoB that situations were playing on the mind of DeT Resprox...things felt wrong. Having made large sums of money for himself through the Blood Raiders and Draclira Merlonne, Resprox heard the rally cry asking those Minmatar who had left the Republic to remember where they came from. Thus T.R.I.A.D was founded as an arm of The Republic Fleet, and Resprox set course for Teonusude.
Year 108 (2006) - The Return
At the end of June 108, T.R.I.A.D would return to Ushra'Khan and setup home in Providence with Resprox immediatley being given a High Council seat.
On 1st July 108, a war hero of the Minmatar people joined the cause of Freedom. Captain Karishal Muritor of the Republic Fleet went rogue, taking with him a Hel Mothership, the Alfhild, and its supporting carrier group. Together with his loyal comrades he formed the guerilla fighter group known as 'The Defiants'.
To the Ushra'Khan, these men and women were kindred spirits. To support the Defiantsoperations was both an honour and a strategic priority for the alliance and on several occasions their pilots flew side by side. It was during this period that the Ushra'Khan supported the assault upon, and destruction of, the Imperial Navy's Sosala Battle station.
Year 109(2007) - Turmoil
The triumph and successes of recent months were cruelly turned to despair on 1st February 109. At the order of Prime Minister Midular's war cabinet, Karishal Muritor was lured under a flag of truce to a meeting in Auga during the Bleaklands campaign. There he was shot down by the Republic Fleet before the disbelieving eyes of an Ushra'Khan escort.
The murder sent shock waves rippling throughout Minmatar society and drove an even greater wedge between the Ushra'Khan and the Republic. A symbolic bounty of a single ISK was placed upon Midular's head by the then-alliance executor, Maggot, to show her sum worth to the Minmatar people.
The remaining Defiants departed soon after to the Great Wildlands in search of something they hoped might change the course of the war forever. The Ushra'Khan, having saved Muritor's body, returned to Providence to lay the fallen hero to rest in exile. Having just acquired the station ISS Fabrica, the station was rechristened and dedicated to the Memory of Karishal Muritor. He was laid to rest within the halls of Karishal's Defiance until such time as he could be returned home to his birthplace within the Republic.
T.R.I.A.D's loyalty to the Ushra'Khan came into question, being supporters of the Republic ethics, but in no way supporters of the government. Any questions were soon answered in the fall of Unity Station.
Year 109(2007) - The Fall of Unity Station
Events moved quickly. Several former friends were moving off the fence and siding with the CVA. The new support had refocusing of efforts had swiftly made a difference to the tactical situation. It was not long before the CVA began their assault on 'terrorist central' itself. The second battle for Unity Station was on.
The defences of 9UY4-H were stronger than those of QR-K85. And the defenders had prepared themselves knowing that the attack would come. Shortly after the siege began events took an unexpected turn. Even with the support of new allies, the defenders were still out gunned by the coalition brought against them. It would be hard fought but the odds were still poor. It was not long before Sylph launched an attack on an Ushra'Khan mining base a few jumps away, bringing themselves firmly into the war.
The true surprise came when news of the invasion spread. And help came from unexpected quarters. The Imperialists are not without their enemies. Support came unasked for from groups such as 0utbreak, Ev0ke and The Establishment. These unexpected developments turned a grim fight against the odds into a chance of victory. Such was the unpredictable nature of the conflict that at the peak of the defenders successes, a strike was successfully mounted against a CVA capital shipyard.
The fighting dragged on for months but in the end it was the superior economic strength of the CVAthat decided the outcome. More and more starbases were successfully established in 9UY-H and control of Unity Station was finally lost.
In the opening battle for Unity station DeT Resprox was the first casualty losing a Machariel class Battleship while leading a defence fleet.
Year 110(2008) Back to our Roots
Following the fall of Ushra'Khan holdings the alliance moved back to its roots of guerilla fighting. Basing again out of low sec Thukker stations warriors continued to harry Slaver space and that of their HolderAlliances. In time the alliance relocated to Curse to rebuild numbers and strength but has continued to launch raids into Providence.
The Elder War of June 10th 110, and ascension of Sanmatar Maleatu Shakor at a stroke reversed much of the damage done to relations with the Minmatar Republic under Midular. But old wounds heal slowly. And betrayal is hard to forgive. Ushra'Khan remained focused upon its pursuit of the Slaver beyond CONCORD's mandate. A few of its warriors worked within the Tribal Liberation Force, primarily under the banner of the Kinda'Shujaa and T.R.I.A.D. This effectively placed T.R.I.A.D as its own entity.
In June 110(2008) DeT Resprox reiterated the threat posed upon the Minmatar by declaration of Jamyl Sarum being made Amarr Empress-elect. In a news broadcast, Resprox stated:
"People of the Minmatar Republic prepare to fight to your last should Sarum come to power. There remains strong support for the Sarum family and there are many who will flock to her call should this happen. The strength of the Amarr and the evil, ruthless expansionist ways of House Sarum will come swift and you can be sure that T.R.I.A.D and the military corporations flying under the Minmatar Republic will be ready.
Hold fast.
For Matar."
Rodj Blake, Admiral of PIE declared their allegiance to Sarum. Four months later, Jamyl Sarum became the new Empress of Amarr.
Year 111(2009) - Our own path
T.R.I.A.D continued to grow as an entity within the Minmatar Militia, and recruited one of their most successful fleet commanders - nasty1. The first true T.R.I.A.D Agency campaign was launched, ending in catastrophe.
However, all was not well within the Militia itself with a number of corporations conitnuing to engage in piracy. Still flying under a loose banner of the Ushra'Khan and holding high council status, T.R.I.A.D came under fire from Heretic Army. For reasons unknown, Heretic Army had been set to positive standings towards Ushra'Khan beforehand. A discussion ensued within the Ushra'Khan council chambers regarding the situation and the refusal of intervention by Kinda'Shujaa.
The result would have an impact which left a sour taste in the mouths of T.R.I.A.D and Ushra'Khan. With that T.R.I.A.D declared themselves as having no ties with Ushra'Khan other than mutual interests in anti-slavery. As before, Ushra'Khan had no interestes in defending the Republic people against piracy...the alliance part founded by Resprox and the path of T.R.I.A.D had moved in different directions.
One month later, the strengths of the Amarr were realised as the 24th Imperial Crusade launched an attack into Amamake in the Heimatar region.
Year 112(2010) - Current Affairs
The Republic too were growing in number. The Minmatar responded to the escalating Amarrian threat by taking Ezzara - an operation led by T.R.I.A.D Agency member Eran Mintor, Minmatar Militia Fleet Commander. T.R.I.A.D launched a series of campaigns through their agency aimed at striking the Amarr. Within a matter of weeks, over 80 Minmatar Militia pilots had began taking up T.R.I.A.D assignments. Eran Mintor played a large part in T.R.I.A.D Agency militia operations.
In the early months, reports of abductions were coming throughout New Eden - the Sansha had begun mounting raids everywhere through wormholes into Empire space. On 13th May 112(2010) T.R.I.A.D launched a campaign aimed at mustering Republic defence against Sansha Incursions. The next day on the evening of the 14th, Silonneri Balginia, High Officer of the Republic Fleet, visited Teonusude - home of T.R.I.A.D. Calling for T.R.I.A.D assistance, Balginia reported an inbound Sansha attack which was met by swift resistance. Balginia sent the following message to DeT Resprox following the strike:
From: Silonneri Balginia
Sent: 2010.05.15 01:53
To: DeT Resprox,
I've seen you on the field, brother, and we have seen the way your kind rally our people. The Republic owes you a great debt.
Stay true, stay defiant.
That same day, Master Kuvakei called for the Sansha followers to rally. With T.R.I.A.D focused on repelling the Sansha attack upon the Republic, news came of the fall of Kourmonen on the night of the Teonusude strike. A day later, Balginia was shot down in Lustrevik and all communication attempts have failed since.
It was also around this time that Eran Mintor defected to the Amarr Militia. T.R.I.A.D had no option than to immediately revoke agency access to Mintor. When the first shots were fired between Eran Mintor and T.R.I.A.D, a private 30m isk bounty was placed on Mintor's head.
In June 112(2010), T.R.I.A.D declared War on Amarr - the result was the setting of every Amarrian Corporation being set as hostile to T.R.I.A.D. The rally call saw T.R.I.A.D corporation numbers grow and multiple campaigns launched into Amarr high security systems aimed at breaking Amarrian industrial power. At the same time, Sansha attacks into Republic space grew as T.R.I.A.D and allied forces continued to mount defence.
In July 112(2010), T.R.I.A.D pledged a retaliation against the Sansha following the discovery of the Sansha home system by capsuleer Mouse Nell.
In September 112(2010), T.R.I.A.D launched multiple campaigns into the Amarr Empire to engage all hostile targets to liberate slaves and to do further damage upon the Amarrian economy.
To this day, DeT Resprox carries a Khumaak with him at all times.
T.R.I.A.D are a pro-Minmatar corporation whose origins go back to forming the original Minmatar alliances. As such, our directive is to protect Minmatar space from Amarrian expansion and piracy whilst fighting against militaristic Amarrian corporations, slave corporations and those who oppose us. We currently run the ONLY player-run mission agency open to pro-Minmatar paramilitaries, individuals and allies. As such, we operate in the defence of the Minmatar Republic against pirate incursions and attacks from other paramilitaries.
Our foundations date back to when our CEO, DeT Resprox, founded the alliance The People's Republic of Minmatar
Our factional standings entirely govern our own actions. This means that we support factions who hold T.R.I.A.D in high favor, likewise, we oppose those who dislike us. Our Agency History page shows our current factional standings which can also be found here.
The Directors are responsible for the Roleplay content of the corp which is built into the Agency and is aimed at bringing fun to your gameplay and to give you an insight into the MInmatar and what they stand for and what T.R.I.A.D as a corporation does.
Rules of Engagement and Standings settings
Pilots, Corporations and Alliances each have their own standings set to T.R.I.A.D as follows:
+10.00 [Ally see point 1. below]
+5.00 [Friendly see point 2. below]
0.00 [Negative see point 3. below]
-5.00 [Cautious see point 4. below]
-10.00 [Hostile see point 5. below]
1. Allies are those who T.R.I.A.D operate alongside or who also operate along similar paths and are in some way connected through diplomacy. Likewise, T.R.I.A.D should also be set as +10.00 towards the entity themselves. Under no circumstances should these be fired at anywhere UNLESS you are fired upon in which case T.R.I.A.D Command must be informed to resolve the issue and alter standings if needed.
2. Friendly entities are those we hold in high regard such as all NPC Corporations of the Minmatar Republic, due to them being those whom we fight for. However, that is not to say that a stray one amongst them is not guised as a pirate, so be on guard. Under no circumstances should these be fired at anywhere UNLESS you are fired upon in which case T.R.I.A.D Command must be informed to resolve the issue and alter standings if needed.
3. Neutral entities are unknown to T.R.I.A.D and of little significance. Under no circumstances should these be fired at in 0.1 - 1.00 sec space UNLESS you are fired upon in which case T.R.I.A.D Command must be informed to resolve the issue and alter standings if needed. In 0.0 space, these targets are fair game.
4. Caution is advised with these entities as they are either likely to be working for those we are against or have been acting suspiciously. We recommend engaging these targets if sighted working in Enemy low sec space (0.1 - 0.4), as we believe they may be supplying enemy factional markets. In 0.0 space, these targets are fair game.
5. Hostile targets have been involved in actions against T.R.I.A.D or our allies at one time or other, such as piracy. Engage anywhere when possible.
We are a Faction warfare corporation and are at war with th Amarr and Caldari Empires - this means that if in any high sec region belonging to either of those factions, members of T.R.I.A.D will be atacked by the NPC Navy - CAUTION IS ADVISED. If mining in high security space, be careful if going away from keyboard as Enemy war targets can still engage you in our high security space, but our NPC's will hunt them down.
Essentials for new members
CORPORATION EQUIPMENT SHOP
We produce a number of goods, all of which can be found through our Equipment link on our website. Stock levels are shown and you are able to purchase any item through our Administration Agent. The actual cost of any item purchased from T.R.I.A.D is as follows:
Market Average minus 10% base as an agency member
Corporation member minus additional 2.5%
Total of above minus your Agency standing.
Example - an item costs 10m isk average on market. 10% as a T.R.I.A.D Agency member takes this to 900k isk. You are in our corporation too, this drops it a further 2.5% to 877500 isk. You have a T.R.I.A.D Agency standing (gained through running missions with us through our agents on site) of 4.00, taking 4% off of this giving you a final cost of 842400 isk.
Corporation Hangars
Full details on Corporation Hangars can be found in emails sent to new members when they join.
Through our ingame website, both Corporation and Agency members are able to run missions and campaigns for T.R.I.A.D. Missions available are generated based upon our factional standings.
Industrial missions, such as transport and supply, are designed to grow the corporation in supplying materials to our corporation and moving them to manufacturing posts. Without these, and without our members supplying materials, our corporation will be very limited in being able to supply ships and equipment for free to our members. Regular mining operations take place, rewarding Loyalty Points and isk based upon our own average costs. We also run missioning events to help profit the corporation. In each case, the EvE Calendar should be used as well as the Campaigns agent on our website to look for any event taking place.
Combat missions are PvP missions where Loyalty Points are rewarded for taking down enemies of T.R.I.A.D.
For a brief overview of corporation details and our agency see our EvE Wiki HERE.
4. Member Ranking and Tribal Castes
As mentioned in the sections above, T.R.I.A.D originates from the Matari tribal beliefs and in doing so carry tribal traits with them within their own tribal caste hierarchy. Those in higher ranking should be followed when orders are given. Tribal standing is based upon standing gained through running missions within our Agency. Standing itself increases Loyalty Points gained through running campaings and missions. Not only that, but being part of an Agency campaign gives everyone on that campaign a Loyalty Point boost based upon the standing of the Organiser/Fleet Commander for that campaign.
The following lists corporation members in each ranking:
Matari Tribal War Chief
The status given to the head of the tribe. The Tribal War Chief is automatically given a corporation standing of 10.00 - the maximum standing possible within our Agency.
